Here is another example of pointilism. This painting is
more representational than many we have reviewed. You can tell what it is,
although you might have
to look for a minute to see it, because of the point of view. You can almost
feel
how
cold
it
is,
and sense how tired the wolf must be, perhaps he has just finished a successful
hunt. The moon is glowing in the sky, and a nearby pine is covered in ice.
This style
lends itself well to the crackling cold, the icy branches, the bristles of
fur and the deep shadows.
